Bangladesh is bestowed with essential major ingredients, such as, low cost hard working manpower, reasonable white color skills, good weather with longer daytime, deep draft basins navigable waterways leading to the sea, long coast line and above all a government with supportive polices and encouragement for steering the country to be a shipbuilding nation.
Shipbuilding immensely benefits any nation in her economic development. Human input is the largest in shipbuilding compared to that in any other known heavy industries and therefore provides employment in shipyards. It substantially contributes in earning foreign currencies, by exporting ships as well as by providing ships for carrying national and international sea borne commerce. It directly supports faster development of infrastructure and growth of heavy industries. It generates huge employment of mariners on board built ships. Over ages and around the glove, shipbuilding has proved itself as the stepping stone industry for economic development of nations. In a nut shell, shipbuilding stewards a nation to faster developments.
Bangladesh Government has declared shipbuilding industry as a Thrust Sector and listed it as a Top Priority Industry. The Government is extending cash incentives on export proceeds of ships and keen to advance this industry as a major foreign currency earner. We Ananda Shipyard appreciates these positive approaches and thanks the government.
